PowerWalker Launches UPS Systems at 2023 COMPUTEX
2023/5 /25
No More Power Outage Panic! German power management brand ‘PowerWalker’ heads to the world’s top three ICT exhibitions “2023 Taipei International Information Technology Show (2023 COMPUTEX)” to show UPS (Uninterruptible Power System) products and services. With a charging capacity nearly ten times higher than other brands, PowerWalker can significantly enhance the UPS backup time of critical equipment in the banking sector to 8 hours within a space of less than half a square meter. The environmentally friendly lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) storage batteries can replace high-carbon-emission diesel generators and low-efficiency lead-acid batteries, assisting customers in getting closer to ESG goals.
The nationwide power outage that hit Taiwan on 3.3.2022 affected nearly 80% of all industrial areas. Energy-intensive industries such as semiconductors, optoelectronics, and steel factories were severely impacted, and sectors including residential, commercial offices, and financial services were also affected, experiencing mayor operational disruptions. The total number of affected households in Taiwan reached 5.49 million.
In the face of such crises, the PowerWalker VFI 5K 48VL, an Online UPS, has been designed with a special emphasis on charging capabilities. It provides a charging capacity nearly ten times higher than other brands and supports environmentally friendly LFP storage batteries. It has been successfully implemented in the banking industry, replacing high-carbon-emission diesel generators and low-efficiency lead-acid batteries.
The key equipment of the data centers of a bank, such as computer servers, customer service computers, and ATMs, has a total power consumption of approximately 3.5 kW. By using the PowerWalker UPS system with six 5 kWh LFP batteries, it can significantly increase the UPS backup time to 8 hours within a space of less than half a square meter. The LFP batteries, known for their significant higher safety, have been widely adopted in the UPS systems of semiconductor factories and have recently been successfully implemented in bank branches to meet the needs of the financial industry.
PowerWalker will showcase UPS products and services at 2023 COMPUTEX, aiming to provide stable power protection for various industries by assisting in the implementation of energy systems. PowerWalker offers over 50 series and nearly 400 power management products, meeting the needs of both low-capacity home energy storage products and high-performance industrial-grade UPS systems. In addition, PowerWalker’s newly launched energy management platform, PowerGlow, allows real-time remote monitoring of usage-data through a downloadable app. PowerGlow has made its debut at the 2023 HANNOVER MESSE in Germany and will also be featured at the upcoming 2023 COMPUTEX.
There is an optimistic outlook for the global market of UPS systems and energy storage devices. According to SolarPower Europe, the number of installed residential battery storage systems in Europe reached a record high in 2022, surpassing one million units. According to a study by Allied Market Research, the global UPS system market is expected to reach a value of $9.4 billion by 2027. In line with this trend, PowerWalker will continue to provide users with comprehensive power protection & management solutions and expand its energy services in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
